During 2003 Nick also competed in a number of the Slingshot Senior tour races, preparing him for 2005. Nick had many top ten's and finished 6th in the Senior Slingshot National standings, this would also earn him the Open Wheel Racers.com Driver of the Year award.

- Nick's first full season with the Senior Slingshots would render him an impressive 4 feature victories, 3rd place in points at the highly competitive Hamlin Speedway, and 5th in points on the Slingshot by Tobias National tour.

- After one full season and 5th in the National points for 2005, Nick's focus was now on the National title. Nick ran 39 races accumulating 9 wins, 34 top 10's, and 29 top 5's. Nick would become the youngest National champion ever at age 14. Nick also finished a strong 2nd in the mid-atlantic tour points, and 2nd in the Hamlin Speedway points standings. This is also the year he would earn the nickname "Nitro" Nick.

- After becoming the National Slingshot champion in 2006, Nick was now attempting to become the first back to back champion and would once again compete in the weekly points program at Hamlin Speedway. Nick competed in 43 races and compiled 11 wins, 40 top 10's,and 29 top 5's. He became the Hamlin Speedway track champion, the Hamlin Speedway home track challenge champion, 2nd in mid-altlantic tour points, and 2nd in the National championship points standings just 5 points shy of becoming the first back to back champion.

- At the age of only 16, the next progression in Nick's successful racing career would be the SpeedSTR open wheel series. Nick would earn the 2008 SpeedSTR series championship along with a series high, 3 victories and 8 podiums. Nick adapted to these 1200 pound 250 hp open wheel racecars very quickly. This series competed on both dirt and asphalt, on tracks ranging from a 1/4 mile to 5/8 mile, and reaching speeds in excess of 120mph. With Nick's success in the SpeedSTR series and his father's background in the asphalt modified tour, Nick's sponsors have decided to set him up in an asphalt modified to compete on the weekends off from the STR series for the remainder of the 2008 season.
